Terms of Service - Electrical Consulting

HOURLY RATES & FEES

TECHNICIAN LABOR

$105-200/hr per Technician depending on work performed and technician experience. Voit Ventures will provide specific hourly rates upon request, and the most common per-hour rates are listed below:
$105 - Junior Technician/Apprentice
$175 - Senior Technician
$200 - Specialty Technical - Ground Fault Diagnostics

HOURLY FEES

$5/hr Shop Supplies Fee - For any work that uses consumables/small parts from our common-items supply.
$3/hr Responsibility Fee - Supports waste diversion for electronics, plastics, and other specialty wastes.

POLICIES

BILLING INTERVAL

Voit Ventures bills weekly for open projects unless otherwise established in a written agreement. Voit Ventures reserves the right to bill less frequently than weekly at its discretion. For time & materials projects, this weekly billing gives the customer a cost update, and the customer is responsible for promptly raising any concerns.

PARTS

All parts must be purchased by Voit Ventures LLC unless otherwise agreed in writing. All parts are subject to a restocking fee if client reduces project scope after work has begun. The restocking fee is equal to any costs incurred and the hourly technician labor to return parts. No warranty is offered for projects utilizing customer provided parts.

TIME & MATERIALS

All projects are time & materials unless otherwise written. Time is calculated door-to-door. Terms including "estimate" and "quote" are used casually, and any fixed-cost projects require a contract signed by all parties.

TERMS OF SERVICE CHANGES

The client is responsible for checking these terms of service before their service date. This document will stay linked in the email signature and kept up-to-date on any policy and/or rate changes.

STORAGE FEES

Upon request, the customer has 5-days to pick up any property left in the possession of Voit Ventures LLC or a storage fee may be added to the bill. Examples of property include, but are not limited to, trailered boats, parts, and vehicles. The storage fee is the higher of $25/day or the cost incurred by Voit Ventures to store. For property that lends itself to shipping, Voit Ventures can ship to customer upon request. Shipping costs and labor are at customers’ expense.

LATE FEES & COLLECTIONS

Voit Ventures reserves the right to charge late fees at the maximum rate established by Washington state. At the time of writing this fee is 1.5% per month starting at 30-days past due. If after ninety (90) days your account remains unpaid, we may use a collection agency or attorney to collect money that you owe us and/or assert any other right we may have under law. The customer agrees to pay our reasonable costs of collection or of any action to enforce our rights, including, without limitation, attorney’s fees and court costs. In the event of default, Voit Ventures will add 35% of the total claim for collection costs. This is pursuant to RCW 19.16.250 (18). No acceptance of partial payment by us shall constitute a waiver of our right to collect the full balance owing.

WARRANTY

Voit Ventures wants to make sure customers are happy with the durability of the work performed. Voit Ventures warranties work for a period of 1-year from date of installation, subject to the terms below.

GENERAL

Warranty covers the labor to fix/restore the installation to working order. Parts are covered by their manufacturer’s warranty only, and Voit Ventures is not responsible for any parts cost. At its discretion Voit Ventures is willing to assist in the warranty process for failed parts, but some parts warranties are needlessly difficult to redeem.

TRANSFERRABILITY

Warranty is for the owner of the vessel at time of service. Warranty expires if the vessel transfers ownership

EXCEPTIONS

No warranty is provided for the situations below:

Consumables that are industry-accepted to last less than a year.
Failure due to lack of manufacturer recommended maintenance.
Failure due to misuse, abuse, or physical damage.
Failure due to acts of god (lightning, flood, fire, etc.).
Failure due to outside forces (shore power under/over voltage, etc).
Modification of systems after installation/service.
Work performed for Commercial or Wholesale customers.

LIMIT OF LIABILITY

Voit Ventures is not responsible for any costs or losses related to the failed system. Non-exhaustive examples provided below.

Towing, impound, and storage fees.
Government enforced fees (environmental cleanup, citations).
Lost wages, inconveniences, or any other incidental expense.
Costs for repairs performed on warrantied systems by third-party technicians.
Damage caused to other components of a vessel due to the failure of the system.
Damage to the system by other failures in the vessel.
